Assembly: where everything comes together.
In and around the Assembly department, technology truly comes to life. Here, a Spierings mobile tower crane takes shape step by step, showing how components, expertise, and people all come together. It is a dynamic world full of specializations, including electrical engineering, chassis, cabins, booms, paintwork, and final assembly.
Everything revolves around collaboration between teams and departments, between disciplines, and between people. That is exactly what makes working at Spierings so special: helping each other, solving problems together, and taking pride in what you create. Throughout the entire construction process, many different areas of expertise come together. Every department has its own craftsmanship, but together they form one strong whole.
Where craftsmanship comes together in one crane
All these links connect seamlessly. What is prepared in one step makes the next step possible. This means you do not only work within Assembly itself, but also closely together with other departments in the factory that supply parts, expertise, and support. It is not simply “everything in one place,” but a chain of specializations that together deliver one complete crane.
A major part of the work is focused on making sure the crane functions exactly as intended. Colleagues ensure that technology, assembly, adjustments, and inspections all connect perfectly. From preparing and assembling components to connecting, testing, and fine-tuning complete systems, this collaboration is essential for the reliability, safety, and ease of use of every Spierings crane.
The foundation of a Spierings crane
Everything starts with a solid foundation. The chassis is prepared and assembled first, after which the crane gradually takes shape step by step. Precision and craftsmanship come together here, ensuring the crane is stable, safe, and ready for use.
Further along in the process, the crane grows into a fully functioning machine. Drive systems, controls, and all technical systems are built and aligned to work together seamlessly. Innovative solutions such as the eLift drive system are integrated here as well, allowing our cranes to operate fully emission-free on site.
Every link in the process has its own role within the bigger picture. Together, these steps form the foundation of the complete Spierings crane. Multiple teams work together throughout the assembly process, including electrical engineering, hydraulics, trucks, upper structures, masts, booms, and, where needed, support staff from IBN Social Enterprise. Appearance and recognizability also receive attention during the process: smaller components are powder-coated and personalized in our own paint shop, while most of the paintwork is carried out externally in collaboration with a specialized partner. In final assembly, everything comes together. Here, the crane is fully assembled, tested, and inspected. Afterwards, Quality Control performs a thorough inspection of both functionality and finishing. Every function, every movement, and every detail is checked, and external inspections also take place. Only when everything works perfectly is a crane ready to leave the factory.
